Earlier, Sweden was not issuing any permit to allow people to come to Sweden to find a job and setup their own business. However, in the month of June 2022, Swedish government has introduced a Residence permit for highly qualified persons to look for work or start a business, i.e. Sweden job seeker visa.
Sweden Job Seeker Visa
In 2023, Sweden offers a Job Seeker Visa for skilled professionals seeking work or entrepreneurial opportunities. Previously, Sweden did not grant permits for job seekers or entrepreneurs. However, in June 2022, the Swedish government introduced a Residence permit for highly qualified individuals, known as the Sweden Job Seeker Visa.
Eligibility Requirements
- Hold an advanced degree (master’s, PhD, advanced vocational, or professional degree).
- Express the intent to search for employment or explore business prospects in Sweden.
- Demonstrate financial self-sufficiency throughout the intended residence period.
- Possess comprehensive health insurance coverage.
- Maintain a valid passport for the entire planned stay.
- Be located outside of Sweden.
Visa Details
The Sweden Job Seeker Visa is valid for a minimum of 3 months, with the potential for an extension of up to 9 months.
